Early Help & Prevention

The Children and Young People’s Plan 2020-24 outlines our vision for all children in Royal Greenwich, regardless of their background and circumstances, to a ‘happy and fulfilled childhood where they enjoy school and family life, learn, belong, grow and achieve so that they enter adulthood ready, willing and able to achieve their highest potential’

This vision is re-enforced in the council’s ‘Our Greenwich’ Plan (published in 2023) which outlines our collective responsibilities to ensure all children ‘achieve their full potential’

We believe that everyone and every agency working with children and families has a role to play in achieving this vision.

The Greenwich Early Help and Prevention Strategy sets out our arrangements for working together to build resilience and to promote the welfare of Greenwich children and families.

Early help is support for children of all ages that improves a family’s resilience and outcomes or reduces the chance of a problem getting worse. It is not an individual service, but a system of support delivered by local authorities and their partners working together and taking collective responsibility to provide the right provision in their area.
