The Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel has published the National Review into the murders of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes and Star Hobson. The document below, outlines the two cases as well as looking at the issues and providing recommendations.
The Panel found evidence of professionals carrying out effective child protection, however it was also found that the child protection element in safeguarding systems needs to be strengthened across the country. The Panel has made eight recommendations to ensure the systems, processes, leadership, culture, and wider service context enable professionals to safeguard children effectively.
GSCP and its statutory partners are committed to safeguarding children across Greenwich and will be using the extensive learning from this review along with local learning from previous and ongoing Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews to develop a local action plan and ensure partnership arrangements are effective for keeping children safe.
