As of March 2022 the most recent amendments for the All London Child Protection Procedures. Importantly this merged part A and B into one main document, as well as the changes detailed below:
• Learning and Improvement Framework – This is a new chapter in the procedures and combines/replaces the “Principles for Learning and Development” and the “Safeguarding Training Competency Framework” chapters.
• Quality Assurance – Information about Unallocated Child Protection Cases has been removed.
• Parents who Misuse Substances – Additional information about statutory guidance was added to Section 4, Importance of Working in Partnership for parents with drug and alcohol problems.
• Spiritual, Cultural and Religious Beliefs – A link to the Child Abuse Linked to Faith or Belief: National Action Plan has been added.
The Information Sharing chapter is a significant addition which details Pan London agreement for information sharing. It sets out the legal bases for sharing information to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. Please familiarise yourselves with these changes and share them with colleagues.
There is also a new chapter on Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews. The GSCP will be following this guidance alongside the National Working Together 2018 guidance, currently being used.
