Early Help Service Name Change
Early Help has changed its name to the Family & Adolescent Support Service (FaASS for short).
The reasons for this change are:
• Firstly because early help is a term that is widely used across the partnership and can relate to universal services and targeted services and we were increasingly finding we had to say RBG Early Help (with capitals!) to make clear that people knew what we were referring to.
• Having a service in Children’s Services called Early Help sometimes reinforced the misconception that it is the local authority that deliver early help rather than a commitment and responsibility across the partnership.
• Lastly, we wanted to recognise that a change has happened in the service. There is now a dedicated unit working with adolescents known as FaSS ReSet which has taken on much of the work of the former ReSet Unit including a robust interface with RBG Community Safety.
Otherwise, it is Business As Usual with referrals coming through the MASH and the North and South Core Units continuing to deliver a whole family service to those in need.
